Remembrance Day

Remembrance day is a day set apart to stop, remember, and honor the men and women who've fought for our rights and freedoms. Rights and freedoms that we’re continuing to fight for today in many ways.

As we’re honoring those who have fought to bring us this far, let’s also take a moment to reflect and value all that God has done in our lives as well. Do you remember a time or a moment where God has fought for you?

Remembering those moments where God has come through for us, helps us stand strong in what we’re facing in our lives right now. Psalm 103:2 says, “Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me.” And in Isaiah 46:9, it says, “Remember the things I have done in the past. For I alone am God! I am God, and there is none like me.”

There is none like God, and though tests and trials happen, God will always bring us through; if we rely on Him.

1 Corinthians 10:13 says, “We all experience times of testing, which is normal for every human being. But God will be faithful to you. He will screen and filter the severity, nature, and timing of every test or trial you face so that you can bear it. And each test is an opportunity to trust him more, for along with every trial God has provided for you a way of escape that will bring you out of it victoriously.”

From big to small, God won’t give us more than we can handle. He wants us to succeed in all we do. John 14:16 says, “When the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you.”

We’re not supposed to put pressure on ourselves to remember everything, or try to do everything on our own. We’re supposed to ask the Holy Spirit for help whenever we feel overwhelmed and ill equipped. He will help us remember what we need or help teach us what we need to know.

This November let’s remember the ones who fought for us, what God has done for us, and let’s remember what we’re still fighting for.
