Seasons of Change

There are seasons in our world; the earth seeds and bears fruit, harvests and resets. If we are not bearing fruit, it does not necessarily mean we are not in the will of God, but that we aren’t in season. January marks not a season in the land but a season of change in time. It is a new year, calendars are changed over, new goals are set and everything is new; as the year changes, so do seasons.

Seasons of change can feel overwhelming and often signal grieving as a life you know is suddenly unknown. Though these changes can be painful they can also be filled with joy and excitement of what is to come, we just have to persevere. We are encouraged in Galatians 6:9 to not grow weary in doing good for in due season WE WILL REAP if we don’t give up.

Things to remember in seasons of change

God made times and seasons

Ecc 3:1-8 For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven…

God is in control; He made the seasons and knows the future. Therefore, we can rest assured that in times of trouble or change it isn’t unknown to God. He may have placed you in a season to shore up your character or develop your calling. Nothing is new to Him because He created it.

God has a plan for you

Jer 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Just as He made the seasons, He also made you. There is nothing by chance, and so a plan is made for your life. We will all go through seasons of change but there will always be a plan behind it. Listen to Holy Spirit and go by peace, knowing there is a destiny for you.

God is faithful

1 Cor 10:13 God is faithful; he will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able

Our God is faithful. He will not leave you or forsake you, and will not tempt you beyond what you are capable of. He created you and knows you. You will not be given things that are too much, you will be able to get through any storm. Lean into the Father and stay firm that He created you for this time and this purpose.

It is not for us to know the times and seasons that God has created, it is for us to follow His Word and His will for our lives (Acts 1:7). In times of change and new seasons all we can do is lean into the Father with an open heart and mind and rely on Him. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us (Philippians 4:13)
