CONFERENCE SPEAKERS
The Southside Worship & Tech Conference is excited to welcome Pastor Craig Buroker and Ben Loates as this year’s main session speakers. Bringing decades of ministry, leadership, worship, and real-world experience, Craig and Ben share a passion for equipping the local church and helping people grow in their calling. Through their main sessions, they’ll bring encouragement, practical insight, and a heart to see worship and ministry teams strengthened for greater impact.
Pastor Craig Buroker
is the co-founder and Senior Pastor of Southside Victory Church in Calgary, which he and his wife, Pastor Anne, founded in 1992. With a deep love for the presence of God and the truth of His Word, Pastor Craig is passionate about seeing people transformed, equipped, and released into their God-given purpose. Through decades of pastoral ministry, teaching, and leadership, he continues to help build a church where the Word and the Spirit work together to impact lives, the city, and beyond.
Ben Loates
is a worship leader, ministry leader, and real estate professional based in the Spruce Grove area. Alongside his wife, Jenna, he serves on the leadership team at Spruce Grove Community Church and is a founder of West Country Worship, where they are passionate about equipping the next generation of worshippers and cultivating worship across Canada. Ben is also involved with real estate, bringing the same passion for people, leadership, and community into his professional life.

Pastor Anne Buroker
Pastor Anne Buroker is the co-founder and Senior Pastor of Southside Victory Church in Calgary, which she and her husband, Pastor Craig, founded in 1992. She has a deep passion for intercession, worship, and seeing believers grow in their relationship with God and walk confidently in their authority and calling in Christ. Through decades of ministry, teaching, and leadership, Pastor Anne continues to encourage and equip others to pursue the presence of God and live out their God-given purpose.
Jenna Loates
Jenna Loates is a worship leader and ministry leader with a passion for seeing people encounter God through worship and creative expression. Alongside her husband, Ben, she is a founder of West Country Worship, equipping and encouraging the next generation of worshippers across Canada. Jenna also serves in leadership at Spruce Grove Community Church and is involved with the Alberta Dance Team, using movement and worship to encourage freedom, creativity, and a deeper encounter with the presence of God.
Abel John
Abel is the Worship and Young Adults Pastor at Journey Church in Calgary, where he has served in worship ministry since the church began in 2018. With over 15 years of experience serving on worship teams across the city, he is passionate about helping people grow into their God-given potential and raising up strong leaders. Abel is also an experienced musician and music director who has worked with artists across Canada, and together with his wife, Erica, is passionate about serving the church and walking alongside others in their faith.
Phenix Warren
Phenix Warren is a Juno Award-nominated producer, mixer, multi-instrumentalist, and artist based at Pocono House Studios in Calgary. With over 15 years of experience serving in worship ministry at C3 Church, he is passionate about helping artists and churches discover and develop their authentic sound. Phenix has worked with artists including Kim Walker-Smith, SEU Worship, and Noah Paul Harrison, while also serving churches across Canada through music, production, and live performance.
Kevin Davis
Kevin Davis is an audio engineer, music producer, and musician passionate about helping churches achieve excellent sound from the stage to the livestream. After discovering audio engineering and production while attending Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry in 2015, Kevin went on to work with churches across the U.S. and Canada through mixing, training, and technical education. He currently oversees audio at Southside Victory Church in Calgary, Alberta, and is co-founder of StreamLine Audio, where he helps churches across North America deliver polished, engaging livestream audio through real-time remote mixing.
Gabe Dantas
Gabe Dantas is a Calgary-based broadcast and production team member with a passion for using cameras and visual storytelling to serve the local church. Through his involvement at First Assembly Church, Gabe serves in camera and filming, helping create engaging broadcast experiences that connect people with what is happening in the room and online.
Kristen Sandberg
Kristen Sandberg is a vocalist, worship leader, songwriter, and vocal instructor with over 12 years of classical training and experience in jazz and musical theatre. She has served in worship ministry since 2017 and currently serves at First Assembly Church in Calgary through vocals and keys. Passionate about healthy, sustainable vocal technique, Kristen loves helping singers grow in confidence, freedom, and understanding of their voices while learning to steward their God-given gifts well.
JM Rabino
JM Rabino is a Calgary-based production team member with a passion for using technology and creativity to serve the local church. Through his involvement with the production team at First Assembly Church, JM helps support engaging worship and broadcast experiences, using his technical skills behind the scenes to help communicate what is happening in the room to those both in person and online.

Overview: Our theme for 2026 is One Sound, inspired by 2 Chronicles 5: 13-14 - “and it came to pass, when trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard praising the Lord, and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music…….the house of the Lord was filled with a cloud….for the glory of the Lord filled the house of God”.

Breakout Session Descriptions
General Worship: Responding to the Sound of Heaven
A session for every worshipper who desires to move beyond simply singing songs and learn to respond to the Holy Spirit in worship. We’ll explore what it means to recognize God’s presence, engage with Him personally, and participate in spontaneous moments of worship. Come discover how your voice, posture, prayer, and response can become part of the prophetic sound God is releasing in the room.
Worship Leaders: Leading the Moment
Spontaneous and prophetic worship requires leaders who know how to listen before they lead. This session will explore how worship leaders can discern the Holy Spirit’s direction, recognize moments to shift, create space for spontaneous songs, and lead a congregation without controlling the outcome. We’ll talk about cultivating sensitivity, confidence, and unity while stewarding what God is doing in the room.
Vocals: The Prophetic Voice
Your voice is more than an instrument. It can become a vessel for what the Holy Spirit wants to express. This session will explore prophetic singing, spontaneous harmonies, vocal freedom, listening to the worship leader and one another, and knowing when to sing, when to support, and when to make space. Learn how to move together as a vocal team while remaining sensitive to the spontaneous flow of worship.
Band: Playing What You Hear
How do you move from simply playing the song to playing in the moment? This session will equip musicians to listen, respond, and create musical space for spontaneous and prophetic worship. We’ll explore musical vocabulary, dynamics, transitions, instrumental spontaneous moments, following the leader, and learning to hear what the Spirit may be highlighting musically. The goal isn't musical complexity. It’s creating an environment where the band can prophetically respond together.
Projection/Screens: Seeing the Moment
The screen team plays a vital role in helping the congregation engage without becoming distracted. This session will explore how lyrics, visuals, transitions, and timing can support spontaneous worship rather than compete with it. We’ll discuss how to respond when lyrics change, spontaneous songs emerge, Scripture is sung, or the worship leader moves outside the planned set—and how to help the room stay focused on Jesus.
Lighting: Lighting the Atmosphere
Lighting can either support the atmosphere of worship or unintentionally draw attention away from it. This session will explore how lighting can serve the spontaneous and prophetic flow of a worship set through restraint, sensitivity, timing, transitions, and atmosphere. Learn how to anticipate moments, respond to musical dynamics, and use lighting as a servant of the worship rather than the centerpiece.
Sound: Creating Space to Hear
In spontaneous worship, sound is more than technical—it is pastoral. This session will explore how the sound team can create an environment where worshippers can hear clearly, respond freely, and move together without unnecessary distraction. We’ll discuss managing dynamics, spontaneous vocals, instrumental moments, changing arrangements, and the unique challenges that arise when worship moves beyond the planned set.
Camera & Filming: Capturing the Sound
How do we capture a spontaneous moment without interrupting it? This session will explore the art of filming prophetic and spontaneous worship while maintaining the sacredness of the moment. We’ll discuss camera movement, shot selection, timing, storytelling, and learning when not to move the camera. The goal is to capture what is happening without making the moment about the camera.
Dance: Movement as Worship
Dance can become a powerful expression of prophetic worship when it flows from intimacy with God rather than performance. This session will explore how movement can respond to the Holy Spirit, complement the sound of the room, and communicate what words sometimes cannot. We’ll discuss sensitivity, prophetic movement, freedom, restraint, and how dancers can minister without drawing attention away from Jesus.
